Disaccharidases Activity Panel

Biopsy:

• Biopsies of small intestine tissue – two x 5 mg intestinal/duodenal biopsy in a polypropylene tube 

Rejection Criteria:

• Specimens sent in formaldehyde, saline, or any supportive media

• Specimens wrapped in gauze, filter paper, foil, or on a swab/toothpick

• Any sample delivered unfrozen, room temperature, or refrigerated

• Tissue specimens that have an abnormal brown color (indicative of not being frozen quickly) may be processed & resulted with a disclaimer on the report.
