Storage and Stability

Storage:

  • Label specimen with patient’s name, DOB, UNOS Number, and date/time of collection

  • Complete requisition form with required information

  • Ship samples at room temperature (do not refrigerate or freeze)

Stability:

  • Specimen viability decreases with time

  • Deliver to laboratory as soon as possible, preferably within 4 hours of collection

Turnaround Time (TAT)

Within 4 hours of receipt of sample
