PredictSURE IBD™ is making personalized IBD diagnostic and prognostic treatment possible for a better quality of life
Questions & Answers
What is the PredictSURE IBD test and how does it work?
- PredictSURE IBD™ is based on over 10 years of research in Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis.
PredictSURE IBD™ can reliably predict patients who are at risk of aggressive or milder symptoms of Crohn’s or ulcerative colitis.
The test is carried out on a small sample of blood.
Why has my gastroenterologist asked for the test to be done?
This new predictive test will provide valuable information to your doctor about the expected way the disease will affect your body. This information will help your doctor decide the best treatment for you to better control your inflammatory bowel disease and improve your quality of life.
What will my doctor do with the results?
Your doctor will use the results provided by the test, in conjunction with other information, such as your colonoscopy results, to guide the best way to help you manage your symptoms. This could result in starting you on a more personalized treatment earlier than would have been considered before the test was available.
Will I have to do the test on a regular basis?
PredictSURE IBD™ is designed to be used at the point of diagnosis, and it is unlikely that you will need to have the test again.
Who pays for the test?
In many cases, your insurance will cover a portion of the cost of the test and you will pay the balance. As there are many and varying insurance plans now available, it is difficult to forecast what your out-of-pocket fee will be. KSL will initiate the billing and collection from you and your insurer.
