Medical Laboratory Technologist

Role

This position is responsible for testing of patient specimens in a medical laboratory under general supervision, including pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical processes associated with specimen processing, test performance and reporting. We are evaluating hires for all shifts.

Responsibilities

  • Perform isolation of DNA and RNA from human blood, bone marrow and FFPE specimens using manual and automated techniques.

  • Set-up of testing on molecular assays

  • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment

  • Adhere to laboratory policies for safety, conduct, and performance

  • Practices universal precautions measures for the handling of body fluids

  • Observes principles of sterile technique in carrying out daily responsibilities including the proper cleaning and sterilization of work surfaces, equipment, and instruments

Certified Phlebotomist

Role

The phlebotomist serves patients by identifying the best  method for obtaining specimens and personally obtains specimens by swab, finger stick or venipuncture. Along with physical specimens, a phlebotomist collects all required information from the patient to appropriately process, test and report results. As scheduled, regional, remote phlebotomy may be required.

Education, skills and / or work experience requirements

  • RN degree / equivalent certification or phlebotomy certification

  • 2 year experience as a phlebotomist

Requirements

  • Action-oriented, problem solving individual with excellent communication skills

  • 3+ years of sales experience, diagnostics or related medical sales experience preferred

  • Demonstrated success managing customer relationships

  • Subject matter expertise in pathology, laboratory testing, oncology, immunology and autoimmune conditions are beneficial

  • Understanding of basic medical, laboratory practices such as specimen collection, test referral, billing / reimbursement, HIPAA

  • Competence with basic office software
