Draw 5mL in a sodium heparin (green top) tube
EDTA (purple top) will be accepted
Bone Marrow:
Draw 2-5 ml in sodium heparin (green top) tube
EDTA (purple top) will be accepted
Unstained smears can also be sent
Tissue:
Fresh tissue completely submerged in sterile culture media (RPMI)
Multiple containers accepted
FFPE tissue: 4 micron sections on positively charged slides accepted
Stability:
Specimen viability decreases during transit
Send to testing lab day of collection when possible
Specimen optimum if received within 48 hours
